Now, again, my design wall is empty. There are NO quilts under construction in the Piecing stage. I started a new project. I took a long awaited quilt kit from the UFO box. I have been wanting to do this quilt for years, but other projects seemed to take priority. But as I started looking at the beautiful batik fabrics, and the 32-page instruction book, I remember why I have not started this particular quilt. It is OVERWHELMINGLY COMPLICATED! The instructions are confusing, translated from Dutch or Danish (?), the entire thing is paper-pieced, and there are curves and circles, and rainbow sequences... A picture is worth a thousand words, so here is the rest of the discussion!
This quilt is designed by Jacqueline de Jonge, (https://www.becolourful.com/ ) the same designer who did Something Blue, which I made awhile back and now graces Dianne's home. I figured if I could do Something Blue and have it turn out beautifully (it even won a View's Choice Award at the Darlington Quilt Show), I could do THIS one too. Yes, it will be challenging, and take a long time. Regardless, I put on my big girl panties and started with page 1 of the directions and now I have a Quilt-in-Progress. I am hoping to finish part B today (the center spikey circle). I will post an update if that happens.
UPDATE:
Yep, got it done!
