Shop Hop Grand Prize Winner!!

This summer, I went on a shop hop with another gal from my quilt guild.

We visited all 6 participating quilt shops.  At each place you have to find a "treasure" using a clue on a map,  and at the last place you visit, your map goes into a bin for a drawing.  Imagine my surprise when I won the GRAND PRIZE from the drawing!  The prize was 10 yards of Hoffman fabrics from their 2015 Christmas Collection.  Beautiful Fabrics!  Lots of gold in these.  Not sure what I will do with them, but I am thrilled with the prospects!  It's so exciting and I never win anything until now!!  Here is my prize (minus the bow and fancy ribbon that wrapped it all up!)

There are 9 different fabrics, each 1 yard, except the cardinal print on top--that is a 2 yard cut.  Such beautiful, high quality fabric!  I LOVE IT!

Quilting Gloves

I recently bought a pair of Quilting Gloves at JoAnn Fabrics, they were cheap ($4.99) and so I thought I'd give them a try.  I've always wanted to try a pair.  I've seen plenty of You-Tube quilting videos and these types of gloves are very common.  I've done a lot of free-motion quilting, and getting and keeping the grip on these big quilts is very difficult.  So, for less than five bucks, how could I go wrong!  GO WRONG???  No way!!!  These things worked like a charm.  I can't believe the difference it made!  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GLOVES!!!  They are very light weight, and grip like leeches!  You can stretch the quilting area nice and smooth, and it stays stretched while you move the fabric around.  I loved it and wished I had bought a pair of these years ago.
